December 31, 2004No sound in ImageMixer -- Google comes to rescueI was having trouble capturing video from my Sony DCR-TRV350 Handycam using PIXELA ImageMixer software (comes bundled with the Handycam) on a Windows XP box. I could see the video in motion but there was no sound. First I suspected the connection between speakers and the computer but this was not a problem as I could play the sound samples from ImageMixer without any problem. Googling for No sound in ImageMixer (the very first try) produced this page, which had the right answer. The default setting for Sound Device (to see the settings, click on Preferences icon at the top-right corner of the screen -- a circle with wrench image in it) is Sony Digital Imaging Audio, which is not the right one for USB Connection. You need to select USB Audio Device. Another instance of non-obvious defaults! Posted by pankaj at December 31, 2004 01:13 PMComments
Thanks so much! This solved my problem!!!!! Posted by: Craig on March 14, 2005 06:41 PMHi, your information helped me a lot. I made the imagemixer to see intel's integrated audio (sound card in the board) as the usb audio device. However the noise level is too high as soon as I connect the camcorder through usb. Did you get the same problem ? Thanks so much. Posted by: something on March 16, 2005 06:11 AMPost a comment
